Fish and birds

Today Sage and I decided to spend the afternoon at the zoo. We recently bought a membership and have absolutely loved getting to know the animals more and spending many lazy days playing in the grassy picnic areas. Today we pretty much hovered at the fish pond which mesmerized Sage, he wanted to jump in and swim right along with them. He also was quite drawn to the flamingos but I think his favorite part of the day was chasing the crows and sparrows that were of course, not particularly on display, but just happened to be visiting. It's kinda like when you give a kid a new toy - they just want to play with the box...

Even though it was still a bit on the chilly side we decided to take Sage out for a swim. He LOVES the water, whether it's a dripping faucet or the rolling ocean waves Sage wants to play no matter what. Here are some pics from our most recent dip.

It has been far too long since I last updated our blog. My parents were recently here to visit and in addition to having a great time, we also scored some wonderful photographs from my dad. I truly believe my dad is the best photographer in the world and I am SO LUCKY that he loves to take photos and give them as gifts =) What a talent he has! I wanted to show off some of his greatest photos but I simply can not pick out my favorites - I love them all!!! But for the sake of this blog, I did manage to narrow down a nice sampling. Thanks Dad for helping us capture all the moments with Sage and in life that we'll always treasure.

Jesusita Fire in Santa Barbara

Once again Santa Barbara is on fire, it's exhausting and dramatic and so very sad to see homes going up in flames. Here are some pics I took this afternoon when the winds kicked up and the fire broke loose toward town. Please pray that the winds would die down soon and the temperatures would cool. (p.s. much happier pics are coming soon from when my mom and dad were here, check back in a few days)!

Easter, He is Risen!

For Easter our church has a service outside at the lagoon at UCSB. Dan played a song during the service while Sage and I hung out on a blanket. Afterward we went to Ben and Lauretta Patterson's home for great meal with lots of friends.

Arizona!

So I finally have found some time to post pics from our trip to see Dan's mom and grandma out in Green Valley, AZ. We had a blast and are so grateful for our time out there. The week started off with Sage having a bad cold and fever and ended with Great Grandma having a fever as well =( But other than that we had a fantastic time! Thank you Great Grandma, we can't wait to see you again!!!
